About ABRL

Welcome to the Agricultural Bioinformatics Research Laboratory, a hub of cutting-edge research, innovation, and training at the intersection of biology, computational science, and statistics. Our lab is dedicated to advancing knowledge in methodology development, data handling & analysis related to genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, and systems biology with wider applications in agriculture.

The M.Sc. and Ph.D. students of The Graduate School, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, research associates, research fellows and project scientists work in diverse backgrounds to address complex biological questions using computational methods. With strong foundations in algorithm development, statistical modeling, and data integration, we aim to contribute to global food security, healthcare innovation, and scientific knowledge dissemination.

The students are engage in challenging research projects, with an exposure to genomic data analysis, genome assembly, machine learning applications in biology, annotation of genes and proteins, multi-omics integration and network biology, development of databases and computational pipelines etc.

We have handled a number of projects, including those funded by BMGF, DBT, State Government, ICAR etc. ABRL has contributed to several peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. Our research work mainly focuses around SNP and marker-based crop and livestock improvement studies, AI-driven predictions in functional genomics, Comparative genomics of plants and animals, Transcriptome and expression atlas development etc, the details of which can be accessed from "Publication" tab. We actively pursue copyrights, databases, software tools, and IPR-protected resources. Our mission is not only scientific discovery but also developing accessible resources for the larger scientific community.

Our students/research associates/research fellows/project scientists have been into respectable jobs like Agricultural Research Services, Assistant Professors, Banking sectors including NABARD, Silk Board, and renowned private companies.
